Ryders supported by City of Ryde Council grant

We were successful in June 2025 in receiving a grant from City of Ryde (CoR) Council for our project "Growing Leadership Capability for Increased Capacity". We look back at how much we've achieved with the support of our CoR Council. There were 8 Coaches and Sweeps trained in First Aid and CPR to keep or gain their accreditation and our members and community safe. Our leadership team undertook DISC profiling to gain insight into their own behaviours and improve how we work as a team and club.

Ryders head to Aus Champs

This week over 60 Ryders will head to the Sunshine Coast to compete at the Australian Championships at Lake Kawana at Bokarina on the Sunshine Coast. We will be racing over a variety of distances - 200m, 500m, 1km turn & 2km turn races. We will be in mixed, women and open crews across Premier, Junior (Joeys combined team), Senior A (40+) and Senior B (50+). On Monday 20/4 we have a huge contingent that will represent NSW across all age divisions. Our Chair, Corina, is the NSW Flag bearer.

Local Sport Grant funded by NSW Government

Ryders thank the NSW Government for grant funds for our project "Female Coaching and Sweeping Development in Dragon Boating". The funding enabled increased skills of our female leaders, creating great role models for our members. Before the project we had 1xLevel 1 female coach, now 1xLevel 2 coach and 2xLevel 1 coaches. We had 2 female sweeps, now 6. The 2 x S&C coaches retained accreditation. The 3 female leaders that undertook the Sport Manager DISC Profiling said it was very valuable.
